Chapter 15

Sickness and Suffering

Not God's Will

"Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it. And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, "Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die." Genesis 2:15-17

In the beginning there was no sickness or suffering upon the earth. God had designed man in such a way that He was capable of living upon this earth in complete health. God gave Adam and Eve the choice of obeying Him and living in a paradise state or eating the fruit of the forbidden tree of knowledge and suffering death.

All who have read the Bible know that Adam and Eve did exactly what God told them not to do. They were tempted by Satan and ate of the forbidden tree. God punished them by expelling them from the Garden of Eden.

Suffering and death had its origin upon the earth at this time.

Throughout the years, I have studied and wondered about the causes of sickness and suffering. Now, after the experiences that I have written about in this book, I have come to realize that most all health problems are caused by a violation of the universal laws that govern our health. That violation may be made by ourselves, sometimes we are victims of others violating the laws; and, of course, there are accidents and natural disasters beyond our control.

Sometimes a person's suffering is due to a violation on the part of parents, grandparents, etc. The violation may occur generations before. For example: mothers who have taken certain medications may produce children who are susceptible to cancer. Parents on drugs and alcoholic beverages may produce children who have physical and mental disorders. Many times it is the innocent who must pay the price of a violation of a universal law.

I now know that germs and viruses are not the cause of diseases as I had believed in my nursing work. Certainly they exist, and play havoc upon the body when they invade it, but they are merely scavangers taking advantage of unhealthy body conditions. The actual cause of sickness is why the body conditions are in an unhealthy state in the first place.

Most of us know that we must eat correctly to be healthy. We must have a proper amount of sleep, we must exercise properly, we must eat a fair amount of fiber, etc. Such health rules are universal laws. We know if we do not obey these things, we will not have resistance to colds etc. While these universal laws are common knowledge, there are many more health laws that are vital to health but are not common knowledge.

I have taken every health problem that I can think of and traced it back to what I believe is its original cause and compiled a list of what I believe are the universal laws that govern health. Universal laws were established by God at the beginning of creation. I believe they governed the health of Adam and Eve and I believe they govern the health of all of us today. (I have no doubt that more universal laws will be revealed as God sees fit to do so.)

Like Adam and Eve we must make choices. God made them free beings and gave them the right to choose the directions for their lives. He has also given that right to each of us.

As you can see in this list of Universal Laws, many, many causes of illnesses are commonly called "sins." When we commit " sins," we bring about self-destruction upon ourselves. The Bible tells us:

Roman 6:23 "The wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

This statement is a literal truth. One needs to look no further than the diseases, and other health problems that are brought upon mankind due to violations of the sexual laws that God has established. Not only do sexual sins create physical health problems, they also create devastating mental problems upon the children of broken homes, etc. The list of health problems created by violations of sexual laws is a very long one indeed.

Today, many persons believe they can ignore God's laws and have a lifestyle of sexual freedom simply because they are on the "pill." There is a price to be paid when a person's sexual conduct violates God's laws, and the "pill" only adds to the problems and certainly does not prevent them.

The "pill" creates tremendous side effects and has fatal results at times. One can only wonder what tragic results are being produced by this pill that we are yet to learn about. According to research literature I have read on the "pill," it is playing a major role in the great increase of cancer and blood clots in women.

Universal laws are established by God and cannot be changed by man.

We may not agree with these laws, and we may not like these laws. Regardless, they still stand!! We cannot change them to suit
