Invitation to take part in an international research project on
"Foreign Languages for the Deaf - State of the Art and Future Challenges"

Centre for Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Students at John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin, Poland, kindly invite your institution to take part in an international research project on "Foreign Languages for the Deaf - State of the Art and Future Challenges". Project aims at characterising the ways deaf/Deaf people acquire a foreign language and is sponsored by a research grant from Polish Ministry of Science and High Education.
 
Co-ordinator of this program is going to be Ewa DomagaƂa- Zysk, PhD, a teacher of English for the Deaf for 10 years now and a researcher in our Centre.
 
As we know your university is a leading institution in providing support for deaf/deaf students, we would like kindly invite you to participate in our program. The research consists of a series of questionnaires (you can find them as attachments) to be filled in by the deaf/Deaf students who learn foreign languages and their teachers. In the year 2010 we plan to organise an International conference on this topics.
 
We also try to complete the materials of different forms of support for the deaf / Deaf tertiary students. If your unit possesses and materials on this services in your university we will be very grateful if you can send them to our centre.
