"Farm House"

In the summer of 2001, my grandmother asked me to help her do housecleaning.  I said, "Sure I would like to help!"  My grandmother and her husband live on a farm. Their house is really big and old-fashioned. It also has really nice and old-fashioned wood  floors, stairs etc.  I cleaned mostly the upstairs bedrooms, dusted, vaccumed, and washed walls.  It was really busy and hard work!  My grandmother and I had a break and chatted.  We ate lunch.  My grandmother wanted me to help Warren (her husband) to find a baby calf - it was always running away from its mother!  My grandmother worried about what would happen to the baby calf.  I walked through the woods and field.  Suddenly I saw something moving in the tall grass. I wondered if the baby calf was playing hide and seek?!?  I went into the tall grass. There was the baby calf! I told my grandmother that I found it!  She was really glad the baby calf was safe!  I took a picture of it.  It looked cute.  After a few minutes, I saw the mother cow running. I said "AHH! OH NO! MOTHER IS COMING!!"  I ran around, and I thought it chased me or maybe it was worried that I took the baby calf away!  WHEW!  The mother was not chasing me, but the mother was worried about her baby calf.  It was getting dark. It was time for the cows and calves go in the barn.  Boy, it was hard to get it in the barn.  Warren yelled to the cows, "GET IN THE BARN!"  We laughed at him because the cows didn't listen to him.  Guess what?!?  Warren got mad at them and picked up a wooden stick and hit one cow in the butt, and it worked!  One that really scared me was a BULL!  The bull ran toward me. I screamed, "AHH HELP HELP!!"  I ran as fast as I could!  I ran and dived under the fence then rolled over.  I looked back WHEW!  I was so lucky!!  My heart was beating so fast, and I tried to catch my breath!!  They laughed at me and thought it was funny!  I didn't think so!  Finally all the cows and calves got inside.  One cow was really stubborn and would't listen to my grandmother. Know what a cow did to my grandmother?  The cow pooped on the floor almost on her foot!  What a stink!!  I laughed so hard but the cow looked at me and mooed at me. I jumped! I could feel the vibration of the cow's moo.  I thought the barn was going fall apart!  It was loud!
