Helping the
Homeless
There are times, we all need someone's help, but think about the homeless
folks, if you will. They can not have birthdays with gifts and of course
during the holidays, such as Christmas, they do not get presents as well. We
all need to help others out in their time of need. If you know of some one
that needs shelter, food and money, help them all you can and if you do not
have the means or funds to help another, ask a nearby friend or a family
member or preacher, to help them out. There are people wanting shelter and
do not have money to even pay the night for a hotel or motel room. So do all
you can to be of service to others in grave need.
I myself buy clothing and take to the Salvation Army. I give money to them
as well. This is what I do as a good citizen and I can not always give from
the heart, all the time. But every little bit helps.
So, if you know of any one that needs food, and clothing, do whatever you
can in your power to help another human being out. I am not saying to take
all your money out of your account, but try to make a good difference in
this world. You can donate to a church, such a clothing and food for the
needy. You can also buy gifts during the holidays for them. Once, I bought a
4 foot tree and new presents and gave food to a family on Christmas Eve and
the child said, "This is the best Christmas I ever had!" He was four years
old, too. I had heard from a source he said these words. It brought tears to
my eyes. I still think about the good deed I had done so many years ago and
if I could help every one that needed help, I would. If I were a millionaire,
I would help all the people in this great big world because I have a big
heart.
I still send money to other organizations and try to do my very best
to send each month and I feel good in my heart that I am helping someone
out. You will feel good in your heart once you start giving more of
yourself.
It is a pleasure and delight to feel, you give to others that are in dire
need of assistance.
I did take in a woman and her man and her two children
as they had no place to go, and I paid the rent each and every month for up
to 9 months. After a while though, I felt I was being taken advantage of as
the man found a job and would not help on the bills, so after so long...I
decided to move out. It has been a rocky road for me, but I still try my
best and do my best to help individuals out that are in need of clothing
and food.
All in all, just be good to others and try all you can to help them out but
make sure they are not ripping you off and have money of their own. I gave
100 dollar bill last Christmas to a family as they needed money and the very
next night they came back for more money. When I did not have any more money
to give to them, they were upset and never spoke to me again. It hurt my
feelings, but I know now they were only conning me out of my cash.
Some of
these so called religious shows will try to take you for all they can, so be
wise and careful. If you feel they are on the level and are asking for money
to be sent to them as so they can help feed the hungry, then by all means send your checks and money orders to them or use your credit card by
phone. This choice is up to you entirely and if it helps the homeless and
hungry, then by all means help them out! Don't just sit there and do nothing
or little.
Be kind to others too, especially people that are without food,
clothing and shelter. Try to always be gentle with your words to others as
well, and if someone approaches you and asked you if they can spare some
change, give them a few dollars, so they can buy a hamburger or drink, such
as sodas and or other non-alcoholic beverages. If you feel however, they
want the money for drinking and dope, don't hand them any money and tell
them, you are sorry, but you don't even know them and perfer not to hand
them any money, or simply say...you do not have the money to spare, you may
have to go elsewhere to get your money.
