My name is Mieke.  What I love most of all is drawing and painting and sculpting.  I am happily married to Peter.  We married almost 5 years ago after both waiting 11.5 years until our children were grown-up enough to be without their father or mother, that is why we intentionally did not see or speak to each other for such a long time.  From my first marriage, I have 2 daughters and so does my husband.  My older daughter is schizophrenic and has 2 children. We have 2 sweet dogs, Fleurtje, a Yorkie, and Doortje, a dachshund.  My husband is a watch maker, or actually a clock maker.  In the evening, I like to watch TV or a good movie.  We are Christians, but almost never go to church, that is to say, we do go, but we watch Hour of Power on RTL5 on Sunday mornings, that is how we go to church.  We love vacationing at the Cote d'Azur with our camper, no great luxury but everything is there.  Once a week, I paint with a friend at home.  At least once a week, I baby-sit our granddaughter, Zoë, just 14 months old, a very easygoing child, a real sweetheart.  I don't like discussions but I do like philosophizing with people about all kinds of important questions and developments in the world.  I am also very interested in art and specifically prefer classical art, such as Auguste Rodin and the great artist Michelangelo.  I myself create naturalistic art in the form of sculptures or portraits; I like to record exotic people and all kinds of exquisite people on canvas, but I don't know how to show them, I only have a few regular places to exhibit, in the Apeldoorn town hall and now and then in a home for the elderly.  But unfortunately, the Dutch only buy from well-known artists, and that is why I sometimes lose courage, but it is in my blood and I must continue.  I have an optimistic nature and laugh easily, often see the humor in many things.  Sometimes, when people are a little too serious and then blunder, I have to laugh.  I don't ridicule them, of course, but I recognize myself in these people, gallows humor, so to say, or self-mockery, that is good for me.  Oh, yes, I do wear hearing aids, I have since I was 40 years old due to arthrosis in my ears and other parts of my body, but I'm doing fine.  I am not very tall, 5'4", and I have black, not very short hair.  I don't work for a living any more, my husband does, he is 7 years younger than I am, but that does not matter.  I love different kinds of music, from the classics to Freddy Mercury.  Well, I'll wait and see if you would like to share something with me, good, serious or funny emails, I would like to meet new people to talk or to share experiences.
