Deaf Artist Pinoy Features

 

          Rommel D. Lo is born normal last February 11,1979, he is in Philippines but because of his illness of German measle during his infancy that he become deaf. Now, he is being Deaf because of our community, also around in the world.

He attended his special education at West City Elementary School, Dumaguete City, Philippines. He attended his grade school with twice a year for every level that cause him bored. After grade three or third level he took an up-grading examination and was able to passed for first year high school.

He attended his first year high school in Dumaguete City. He transferred his 2nd year High school in Cebu City, the First High School for the Hearing Impaired open in Cebu City. He participated the “Sixth National Youth Congress Start Renewed Vision” held at Teacher Camp Baguio City from 6 to 10 of September 1999. He graduated with honors as: Valedictorian, best artist, best leader and good services. He is one of the recipients of the Don Sergio Osmeña awards for Academic Excellence for school year 1999-2000. He started his problem of college studies because the only college with sign language is not offering Fine Arts. He tried to take entrance examination and was able to passed. He enrolled at the University of San Carlos taking up Bachelor of Fine Arts major in Painting Arts and graduated October 16, 2004.

Anyway, His member of the Deaf Effata Association of the deaf, Inc. also coordination with the celebrative of Deaf Awareness Week 2004 held at the exhibit painting arts on last November 8-13.2004.
