Discovering Deaf Worlds (DDW)
is an organization that works to help the
difficulties facing deaf people in
developing countries.
DDW members travel to
different parts of the world to see how deaf
people live in developing countries. They
like to see for themselves the problems and
needs of the deaf people in those countries.
While they are traveling, they meet people
who are working there to make things better.
In this way, DDW
builds a network of individuals and
organizations who are working in each
country. Then, DDW tries to help those
people carry out their work. They feel that
it is better to help programs that are
already existing rather than starting new
programs themselves.
