Needs in Lithuania

 

  • "ADAPTA" is a non-profit organization for parents and friends of the hearing impaired.  The School for the Deaf and Hearing Impaired in their city has an enrollment of 63 students.  They write, "Due to the economic situation here in Lithuania, the school's budget has been cut drastically. The lack of school supplies such as paper, pens, pencils, chalk, notebooks, textbooks, art supplies, etc. continues to challenge the teachers and students, making learning that much more difficult."

     ADAPTA requested a grant for sports uniforms, basic classroom supplies, bedding and pillows for their dorm, and painting supplies. Thanks to the generosity of many people, we were able to send ADAPTA a total of $1330. They write, "All of us are saying - Thank you! Thank you for your  work and all your help for those, who need it. Your work  and donations demonstrates your concern and love for people and deep understanding of their needs,  regardless of their living place. That is very inspiring and makes us see the world better."

    The need for school supplies is ongoing. The cost per semester is about $200.
