INTRODUCTION

 

Dialogue between James and Ann

 

James: How do you do?

Ann: How do you do?

James: Where do you come from?

Ann: I come from England.

James: I see.

Ann: Where do you come from?

James: I come from the United States of America.

Ann: oh good.

James: What do you do?

Ann: I am a student.

James: That’s interesting.

Ann: What do you do?

James: I am a student too.

Ann: That’s great.

James: Where do you study?

Ann: I study in Oxford University.

James: oh really!

Ann: Yes.

James: I study in the same university too.

Ann: How strange we never met before?

James: what do you study?

Ann: I am a student of political science.

James: I see.

Ann: And you?

James: I am a student of Sociology.

Ann: sounds interesting.

James: Where do u live?

Ann: I live in the University’s hostel.

James: right.

Ann: Where do you live?

James: I live in a hostel other than university.

Ann: hey, I have to rush for a class see you.

James: see you.

Ann: bye.

James: bye.

Things to Do


Give a statement using the verbs mentioned above and then try to ask the same from the other person. Use What, Where, How, Why, Do to make as many questions as possible.


Example

I come to school at 9:30 am

When do you come to school?

 

 

Note: Always use first form of verb with I, We They, You. This structure is used when we describe daily routines, timetables, schedules etc.
