Dear Deaf Friends,

We are two Italian deaf people and would like to correspond with people from all over the world.

Mike: Hello everyone! My name is Michele. My friends call me "Mike." I am a 23 year old boy and I was born on March 18, 1977 in Novara in Piemonte, Italy. I live with my family. I have a married sister.

Pippy: I am a 18 year old girl. I live in a small town close to Milano. I wrote to you three years ago, and I would like to continue to write and be a E-Pal.

Mike: It is the first time I have written to you. I hope you are interested in my letter and I'll be happy to receive your news which comes from all over the world. I have not yet received a letter.

Pippy: Be quiet, Mickey, be quiet. When this is printed in DFI, I am sure you will receive lots and lots of letters, OK? I am named in such a way because my hair is long, curly, and red, and I look like Pippy Longstocking, but my name is Silvia. I like writing and getting letters very much and having new friends. I dream to travel around the world, for example in the USA, Polynesia, Sweden, Portugal, Brazil, and so on.

Mike: In the USA? I visited USA. It was a lovely, unforgettable scholastic trip for me in the USA in Ohio and Washington. I also visited Gallaudet University. Perhaps soon I will go there again if the school accepts me. Will you also be there?

Pippy: Where? In America? To be sure yessssssssss! It is the thing that I most desire. I was to go but unluckily I had a problem. I was so upset! I am looking forward to going over there.

Mike: I am sure you will go next time (I hope).... Pippy, let us say what sort of school we attend.

Pippy: (Ooops!) Sure, you are right.

Mike and Pippy: We attend a school for deaf students. We attend the fourth class in a Technical School.

Pippy: When my first letter was printed, I was sure no one would write to me, but....I am happy because many of you wrote to me. Thanks, my friends. I am looking forward to getting your letters.....

Mike: I dream about going to America. I am looking forward to it..... What do I like there? I like their culture, seeing the American towns, and their style of life. I love the computer and going out with friends.

Pippy: I have forgotten something---last year some schoolmates of mine and I went to Sicily for a cultural exchange to meet teachers and students who came from Columbus, Rome, and Masala (In Sicily). Everyone who reads this story of mine, if you remember me, I send you a lovely, big greeting.

Pippy: Mickey is sitting close to me in my school rom, so we decided to write this letter together. That is all for now....Ah! Yesssssssss!!
